I estimate I have a few thousand bricks, some of them from my boyhood. I sometimes build models, but am mainly interested in mechanisms, functional devices, and RIS contraptions.

I have a young son who shares my interest. He has his own bin of Duplo blocks to build with, but he enjoys making his own "mechanisms" with my bricks. I can just barely justify my habit to my wife by promising that one day, our son will inherit the collection.

I tend to get longwinded when I expound on what a great toy LegoŽ is. I guess the fact that there are thousands of intelligent, creative adults out there who never gave up their childhood "toy" speaks to the issue better than I could.
